Audi-teams-up-with-AirAs part of its sponsoring of the Emmys, the carmaker has teamed up with Airbnb to give people the chance to book a holiday home in Death Valley.

As part of the three day package, guests stay at the remote “Rondolino Residence” which is located in the middle of the Nevada desert, without any designated address and only mapable by co-ordinates. Also part of the promotion is use of an Audi R8 Coupe plus VIP treatment from the carmaker, including a professional driving experience.

The offering is to be plugged on TV during the advert breaks at the upcoming Emmys on Sunday. The title of the stylish commercial is “Desolation” and it’s directed by MJZ’s Craig Gillespie. In it, a young family are living at the Death Valley home, simply because they need a reason to drive their Audi R8s. The young couple use any excuse to dash across the desert flats in their Coupes to a distantly located minimart.

This is the sixth year running the Audi has sponsored the television awards. Loren Angelo, VP-marketing for Audi of America said in a statement: “Once again, Audi is honoured to support television’s brightest stars during its biggest night. What better stage to introduce our marketing partnership with Airbnb than the Emmys.”
