The rise of the electric vehicle and automotive technology has been unparalleled as companies compete to have the longest range, the most power and the least emissions possible. So with new technologies being consistently released, what have Audi released as the most recent piece of innovative electric technology?

Well, the answer to this question is the introduction of a 48 Volt production system. This system has been hailed as an electric marvel in the motoring world. Audi are one of the first companies to introduce this technology into their SQ7 Super SUV. What this technology achieves is unmatchable in the electric car world. By utilising the 48 Volt production system alongside the previous 12 Volt system and two turbochargers, the SQ7 Super SUV claims to eliminate turbo lag. But not only this, the vehicle is more powerful than ever whilst the ride is much smoother too.

There is also more electric technology installed than just the new 48 Volt electric production system. There is also an electromagnetic active roll stabilisation system which links in with the electric production system; this allows for an even better ride quality.

The Audi SQ7 Super SUV will rocket from 0-60mph in 4.8 seconds, will have full LED headlights and rear lights, a virtual cockpit and MMI technologies.

The Audi SQ7 Super SUV will be available to order early this summer but expect there to be a heavy price tag. The vehicle at this moment in time is priced at £70,970 but this price can rise rapidly as optional add-ons are added. These add-ons may include ceramic brakes and a sport differential optimising torque distribution at the rear axle. This will allow for maximum handling adjustability and all-wheel-steering that also boosts control at high speeds whilst also aiding manoeuvrability at parking speeds.

Either way, this certainly is a huge leap forward in the electric car world…
