Sales for luxury car manufacturer Audi have increased worldwide by 17%, to 94,100 year-on-year.

Demand has risen recently and Audi seem to be making great steps towards improvement. The news released today about Audi’s car sales will be very encouraging not only to the company but to automotive industry in general.

UK: increased by 25% to 3,613 compared to 2,895 in August 2010

  • Cumulative sales were up by 12.5% to 75,128 compared to 66,752 in 2010

Russia: increased by 36% to 2,010 compared to 1,479 in August 2010

  • Cumulative sales were up by 26% to 15,800 compared to 12,579 in 2010

China (including Hong Kong): increased by 26% to 28,068 compared to 28,068 in August 2010

  • Cumulative sales were up by 29% to 196,534 compared to 152,782 in 2010

Germany: increased by 20% to 18,056 compared to 15,394 in August 2010

Brazil: increased by 67% to 501 compared to 300 in August 2010

  • Cumulative sales were up by 59 % to 3,209 compared to 2,019 in 2010

India: increased by 104% to 510 compared to 250 in August 2010

Spain: increased by 18% to 2,111 compared to 2,582 in August 2010

France: decreased by 4.5% to 3,258 compared to 3,410 in August 2010

Italy: decreased by 11% to 2,506 compared to 2,815 in August 2010

  • Cumulative sales were up by 3.6% to 41,023 compared to 39,595 in 2010

 

Worldwide statistics

Globally, from January to August of this year, sales have increased to 17% to 853,000.

Throughout Europe Audi car sales have increased by 14% year-on-year to 44,200. From January to August of this year sales have increased by 13% to 484,000.

The Asia-Pacific region saw an increase of 26% year-on-year to 32,800. The overall sales from January to August were up 27% to 236,500.

Unexpected

Audi themselves were surprised after reviewing their car sales. They stated that not even they expected such news.  Models such as the Q5 and Q7 have had great success and will have had an influence on the statistics above.
