Johan de Nysschen
Johan de Nysschen, the President of Audi America has put the success down to years of planning how to captivate the imaginations of American customers. He said “The Audi momentum story began a few years ago with the restructuring of our U.S. business model and the steady arrival of exciting new models that have captured the imagination of the American premium car customer,”
He continued to say how Audi have stuck to their plan during economic downturns. “Through precarious economic conditions, we have held fast to this plan along with our dealers who have devoted record levels of investments in their franchises.”
Audi were reported to have set records during the first 10 months of the year. November sales are expected to reach record highs too. A lot of the success is down to the national holiday Thanksgiving. During this particular holiday period, a lot of new cars are bough at presents in order to celebrate. Audi appeared to have taken advantage and performed extremely well. After Thanksgiving, Audi sales reached a figure of 102,055.
This is the first time that Audi have sold more than 100,000 cars in the United States of America. 2011 has been such a good year for Audi America that every month has been a record breaker. November, as mentioned earlier, is also expected to break records. Many could say that it was about time that the company were reaching targets such as these since its introduction to America 41 years ago.
Second hand car market success
Audi are also doing very well in the second hand car market. That particular sales figure has eclipsed that of 2008. Altogether this market had improved by 32%.
