New S models to be released

Audi have announced the arrival of three brand new high performance cars. The S6 Saloon, S7  Sportback and S8 are set to be showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. All cars are intended to be more powerful and perform better on the road.

The power of all three cars will come from a new 4.0 Litre V8 engine, which Bentley was involved in developing. All models will also be 4 wheel drives, bringing about great performance and handling.

The S Types are the high end performance cars stemming from the A6, A7 and A8.

The new Audi S6 Saloon

The S6 will produce 420bhp and is said to offer around 29mpg. The fuel economy sees an improvement, with a cylinder deactivation system as well the car being smaller.  It will be able to achieve 0-60mph in just 4.8 seconds. The S6 will have a spoiler on the boot (roof spoilers on the saloon or estate), four chrome tailpipes and also an aluminium type front grille and mirrors. The new Audi S7 Sportback

The car’s top speed will be limited to around 155mph. Images that have been revealed show a stunning interior along with wonderfully crafted bodywork.  Comparisons over the current A7 show that the S7 is a lot sportier in terms of its appearance. It has been mentioned that the S7 will reach 0-60 in just 4.9 seconds too. The same engine will be used as the S6. Again, 19inch wheels or 20inch wheels will be made available.

The new Audi S8

The S8 is the most powerful S type, offering up to 512bhp. It will be able to reach 0-60mph in just 4.2 seconds. Direct injection fuel technology and the fact that will be a twin turbo will certainly help the car reach high speeds quickly. The car will be limited to 155mph and give around 27mpg. Of all the cars unveiled, the S8 is certainly the fastest. The car is expected to go on sale in the UK next spring and will set motorists back around £90,000.
