The Audi Q3 has been making headlines in the automotive industry recently. There has been news that the news could hit the Chinese car market in the very near future and that the Red Track Q3 will be showcased at the Worthersee Tour in Austria next week.

Audi Q3 will be more expensive than the Audi Q5

According to many sources the car could be released in China as soon as next month. It will however cost more than its larger sibling the Audi Q5. As the Audi Q5 is manufactured within the country, it naturally brings the price of the vehicle down. The Audi Q3 will be exported from Germany and therefore will contain a higher price tag. It is thought that Audi will produce the car locally in the future.

The Audi Q3 is built upon the Volkswagen Group’s newly developed PQ35 platform. It is the smallest SUV in Audi’s line-up, behind the likes of the Audi Q5 and the Audi Q7. It measures 4.39m in length, is 1.83m in width and 1.6m tall.

Three different engine variants
The Audi Q3 has three different inline four engine variants to choose from. There will be two turbocharged petrol options along with a single turbo diesel configuration. All models will come with keyless start along with start stop technology. The car also contains hydraulic regenerative braking. The 2.0 litre turbocharged Q3 variant will be able to achieve a maximum of 211 BHP.

The Audi Q3 Red Track
Audi will showcase their concept Red Track version of the Audi Q3 at the Worthersee Tour, Austria in one week’s time. The Audi Q3 Red Track contains a 2.5 litre five cylinder engine which is the same as that found under the Audi TT RS. That will make it the most powerful Audi Q3 ever, generating a tremendous 340 BHP and 331 pound-feet of torque. The car will also come with a seven speed S Tronic gearbox. Power shifts to all four wheels thanks to Audi’s famous Quattro system.

The paint work is quite remarkable with excellent touches of contrast the body. The headlights contain red along the base. The 20 inch alloy wheels are silver with black accents around. The car also stands 1.2 inches higher which gives the vehicle a more intimidating stance. Many would certainly be interested if this concept car was to be made available.
