As the release of the new Audi A3 nears, we take a look at the car and look at the fantastic attributes that it has to offer.

Now in it’s third generation, expect the Audi A3 to be better than ever. The European model shown off is a three door. The five door model is expected to be unveiled later on in the year.

The Audi A3 contains brilliant aluminium front fenders which are designed to reduce the weight of the car. At the front of the car, there are xenon LED daytime running headlights, a typical luxury Audi feature. There is also a single frame radiator grille which makes the vehicle look slightly aggressive.  Optionally there will be LED tail lights. At the back of the car, the diffuser really showcases the width of the new car. There are two exhaust pipes available at the back but only upon the more powerful variants.

Larger wheelbase

The vehicle remains the same in terms of height and length. However the wheelbase has been made slightly larger so that the car is held in better stead on the road. The new dimensions upon the wheelbase also suit the new features within the interior, meaning the car’s width is slightly bigger.

Interior of the car

The interior of the car is designed around a uniquely described floating dashboard. The air vents are round looking very attractive and stylish. There is an optional 3D colour display at the front of the car in the centre, which controls the Driver’s Information System. The MMI monitor is extremely thin and is also retractable.

With the MMI navigation plus integrated with MMI touch, drivers are able to input letters into the system with the simple use of finger motion.  This advanced feature is available as an optional extra.

Safety equipment includes traffic sign detection, active lane assist, side assist, park assist and radar assisted adaptive cruise control.

As an optional extra, there will be a specially designed and A3 catered Bang & Olufsen Audio System. Live Traffic Navigation is available as an optional extra.

The Audi A3 will come with three different engines. Each one will be four cylinders, being a 1.4, 1.8 TFSI and a 2.0 litre TDI. Each will be able to produce 122 BHP, 180 BHP and 143 BHP respectively.
