The new Audi A4 Allroad is about the hit the Australian market. The car is essentially a hatchback, offering great competition to the Subaru Outback.

The vehicle will come with a 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine. A seven speed S Tronic dual clutch automatic transmission will be fitted. Audi’s worldwide famous Quattro all wheel drive system will also come with the model. Australian motorists will have to pay $69,900 if they fancy one.

The Audi A6 Allroad has a 3.0 litre V6 turbo diesel engine coming together with a seven speed dual clutch transmission and Quattro all wheel drive too. It will set Australian motorists back around $117,900.

They are quite SUV’s but have a similar sort of appeal. If motorists do want a proper luxurious SUV, it will cost $54,500 for the Audi Q3 2.0 litre TDi. The Audi A5 is another alternative TDi will cost around $75,000. In terms of engine options, practicality and power, there is not much to choose between the vehicles. Choosing between the vehicles will come down to very fine details it would seem.

As you may expect with Audi’s, the standard equipment list is quite generous. This includes xenon headlights, tyre pressure monitoring, front and Rear Park assist, keyless entry and start, a rear view camera, a 10 speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity ability, satellite navigation, electric front seats, controls on the steering wheel, a 20 gigabyte hard drive. The Audi A6 Allroad comes with a lot more equipment as standard.

You notice a major similarity between the new Audi A4 Avant and the Audi A4 Allroad. Both are pretty much the same. Main differences include a the Allroad sitting higher off the ground, a new wheel arch design, stainless steel exterior garnishes and larger tyres. There is a similar story with the a6 Avant and A6 Allroad.

Audi have gone down a route of efficiency in a very determined manner with all their new models. The Audi A4 Allroad will come with automatic start/stop, low energy air conditioning and low rolling resistance tyres. All of this results in better fuel economy plus lower carbon emissions.

The Audi A4 Allroad’s off road capabilities are pretty impressive. They include a self locking rear differential, reinforced suspension subframes and off road stability control.
