For example, we have used the American Ford Fusion in order to get more information on the Ford Mondeo. This time round, we are going to look at Australia’s facelifted Audi A3. The UK gets the facelift much earlier than the Australians do, but they have mentioned technology a lot more than we have here in the UK. So, does that mean that the A3 is more technologically advanced in Australia, are our cars in the UK generally more technologically advanced or are we seeing a new shift emerge?

The Audi A3 and S3 models, which have always been seen as excellent vehicles are undergoing a facelift. The Australian version has been tested and the results and reports by motoring journalists, all mention technology. Audi have spent a lot of time and money upgrading the infotainment system and virtual cockpit. The infotainment system has been upgraded using Man Machine Interfaces (MMI) which allows for better smartphone connectivity, text search and handwriting detection, a quicker touchpad and better mapping systems. The cockpit will also include an Audi phone box which charges phones when the car is moving. Audi Australia states that interior technology is extremely popular with 90 percent of owners opting to purchase the virtual cockpit so no wonder why it has received many upgrades.

There will also be plenty of driving assist technologies integrated too. For example, there will be traffic jam assist, rear cross traffic alert and emergency assist pre sense front systems. There are more driver assisting technologies in the UK version of the Audi A3. So what may be seen here are either different technologies or alterations for different markets.
