On the surface, this seems unorthodox as most car makers charge a good deal extra for the add-ons. But Audi A3 users can do away with the expensive in-car sat-nav completely, merely plugging in their Smart phones will transfer all their map data onto the car’s central console screen.
That’s not to say there aren’t any fun optional extras. One particularly cool feature is the innovative Audi phone box – which offers Qi wireless charging, and automatically links with the cars hands-free-system and Audi Connect, which brings 4G-hotspot connectivity into the cabin, and access to a wide range of Audi-specific online services.
Despite all this new tech, the basics have been well looked after – with a good range of ports and connections, including a pair of SD cards, two USB sockets, and a 3.5mm aux input, plus a CD player to satisfy the old school brigade.
